Prop Interface Board – 2-Channel Opto-Isolation
Prop Interface Board – 2-Channel Opto-Isolation
Many ready-made escape room props and puzzles are designed to directly unlock a magnetic lock once solved. If you want to fully integrate such a puzzle into your Realix ERC puzzle flow, you need more control: instead of just unlocking, you may want to trigger sound, lights, effects, or automatically activate the next puzzle.
To do this, the prop’s lock output must be connected as an input to the Realix IO Pod. From there, your escape room software decides how to respond — unlocking the door, playing an effect, or chaining the puzzle into the larger game logic.
Since these prop outputs often operate at 12 V or higher, they cannot be connected directly to the IO Pod it would damage the input of the Pod. That’s where the Prop Interface Board – 2-Channel Opto-Isolation comes in. It has two channels and provides electrical separation between both input and output. With a jumper you can still connect grounds, but in most cases you want full separation and leave it open.
